The Weyers

The Weyers

Synopsis
»Desert rock from the mountains« – that’s what the Swiss brothers Adrian und Luke Weyermann aka The Weyers call their blunt high energy rock.
Text
Although it’s “only” the two of them in the studio as well as on stage, their two-man-army of vocals/guitar and drums unleashes a ‘wall of sound ride’ that staggers the audience with a highly explosive mix of rock, blues and power pop. To sum it up: filthy riffs + snotty beats + English lyrics = The Weyers.

Singer, songwriter, guitarist and loop machinist Adrian Weyermann is a veteran of studio and live performances with international artists and has also made a name for himself as a producer, film and theater musician. Drummer and singer Luke Weyermann collaborated with the likes of Mona Lisa Overdrive, Crank, ZOT and Hillbilly Moon Explosion – »however, only the interaction with my brother creates this undeniable, unique energy«, says Adrian. A raw force made of an unembellished, honest sound, lyrics that seem to come from a feverish delirium, and a raw, rampant energy feeding on the creative friction of its two masterminds.

The 2014 album debut “Within” impressively bridged the gap between the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Triggerfinger and the White Stripes – their six-track mini album “Beep Beep Beep”, released in spring 2015, however, reveals The Weyers in their roughest and most dynamic form. “Sounding massive despite being a duo” has always been the motto of the brothers, who focus on the essentials on “Beep Beep Beep”: No tricks, no false overdub bottom, mainly recorded live and analog. Handmade music, which once again received a wicked wide-screen treatment by ex-Swans drummer and producer/engineer Roli Mosimann (Björk, Faith No More, Einstürzende Neubauten, New Order). The Weyers turn the rock cliché upside down: »Rock ‘n’ Roll is much more than a self-destructive lifestyle – Rock ‘n’ Roll can save lives.«
